Type 1 diabetes (T1D) can be a traumatic diagnosis for children, young people, and their families. Despite the need for mental health support for this population, there have been no trauma-informed psychosocial interventions developed for children and young people with T1D in Western Australia.
Please join us for a community conversation to help us develop a research strategy for a community-led, trauma-informed, mental health intervention to improve wellbeing following a diagnosis of T1D.
We will be hosting three conversations:
- for regional and rural communities (5:30pm-8pm, Thursday 12 October)
- for Perth-based families north of the river (5:30pm-8pm, Thursday 19 October)
- for Perth-based families south of the river (5:30pm-8pm, Tuesday 17 October)
North of River: Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre, 11 Limosa Cl, Stirling WA 6021
South of River: Cockburn Community Room / Kitchen, 11 Wentworth Parade, Success WA 6164
